Updating speed cameras

Most TomTom navigation devices come with fixed speed cameras preinstalled. How you update speed cameras depends on what type of navigation device you have. Select your device:

Devices using MyTomTom

MyTomTom offers one free update for fixed speed cameras when you connect your device for the first time. You can download MyTomTom from www.tomtom.com/getstarted

Blue&Me - TomTom 2 LIVE, Sony XNV LIVE: You can update fixed speed cameras weekly using MyTomTom. Mobile speed cameras are available over the air.

To update your fixed speed cameras using MyTomTom, do the following:

Connect your navigation device to your computer and switch it on.
To start MyTomTom, click one of the following MyTomTom icons in the Windows notification area or Apple menu bar:

Then click MyTomTom.

MyTomTom opens in a browser window and checks for available updates including the one-time update for fixed speed cameras.

If you have a speed camera subscription, make sure you are logged into your MyTomTom account that is linked to your speed camera subscription. Click the MyTomTom button in the navigation bar and check if your email address is correct.

If MyTomTom doesn't automatically check for updates, click Check for new items.
A window opens showing the available services for your account.

Click Start downloading. [ more... ]
MyTomTom downloads and installs the latest speed cameras.

You can then disconnect your device from your computer.

Enable your speed camera alerts
To enable speed camera alerts on your device tap Enable alerts in the TomTom Speed cameras menu. [ more... ]

Devices using TomTom HOME

TomTom HOME offers one free update of these cameras when you connect your device for the first time. We also offer subscriptions to keep your speed cameras up to date.

When you update your speed cameras they replace the existing set on your device.

Select a camera type to see how to update it:

Fixed cameras

You can update fixed speed cameras using a computer and TomTom HOME. You can download HOME from www.tomtom.com/home.

To update your fixed speed cameras on your navigation device follow the steps below.

Connect your navigation device to your computer and switch it on.
Wait for TomTom HOME to start. [ more... ]

Log into your MyTomTom account. [ more... ]

If HOME doesn't automatically check for updates click Update my device.
A window opens showing the available services for your account.

Click Download updates. [ more... ]
HOME downloads and installs the latest speed cameras.

Click Device > Disconnect Device in the HOME menu.
You can then disconnect your device from your computer.

Enable your safety camera alerts
To enable safety camera alerts on your device tap Enable alerts in the TomTom speed cameras menu. [ show me how... ]
