TomTom Map Share is a unique technology that enables you to add to, update and personalise your maps instantly. It also lets you share and benefit from other users’ changes - daily, automatically and easily via TomTom HOME. TomTom Map Share technology means TomTom drivers can always have the most up-to-date maps at their fingertips.

TomTom Map Share™ requirements

TomTom Map Share requires application version 7.xxx and map version 675.1409 (or higher)* to be installed on the device. Click here to find out how to check the version of your application and map.
To check if a new application version is available, connect your TomTom device to your computer with TomTom HOME installed. TomTom HOME will automatically check for application updates.
If your map does not meet the minimum requirement for the TomTom Map Share feature, you can purchase new maps from here.

TomTom Map Share™ community

The first time you enter the map corrections menu on your TomTom device, you will be asked to join the TomTom Map Share community. Membership is free of charge, as its sole purpose is to allow every TomTom user to instantly receive map corrections made by others ¹.

If you decide to join the TomTom Map Share community and to share your corrections with others (recommended), then your corrections will be uploaded to us every time you connect your device to TomTom HOME. At the same time, corrections made and reported by other TomTom users are sent to your device after they have been verified.

You have a number of options available on your TomTom device to decide what sort of map corrections you would like to receive. We take great care that the map corrections you receive are correct.

¹ For each map, we generate and update a database of map corrections for up to one year. After one year, this database will no longer be updated with new map corrections, but can still be downloaded by anyone using that map version. In order to continue receiving new map corrections you will be asked to purchase a new map version which already contains the corrections reported by you and other users previously, as well as the changes made by the map provider.
